Referrals work, and that is undisputed. According to Extole, “The Lifetime Value of a referred client is 25% higher than that of other customers.” So we know that referrals are a valuable part of business networking--BNI didn’t invent the concept, our organization has just (nearly) perfected it.

BNI is a business networking organization that fosters a culture built upon the core principles of Givers Gain ®, and the results are undeniable. Beyond this, BNI helps members develop a culture of caring by encouraging professional development and building consistent, meaningful business relationships.
If you are interested in attending a BNI meeting as a prospective member, a few things to know before you go:
Be Prepared. Visit a chapter meeting and be prepared to talk about your business. Members are interested in getting to know how connections with visitors can be mutually beneficial. Remember to bring business cards!
Meetings. As a visitor, you may attend twice before applying for membership. Use your time wisely as a prospective member to get to know members. Meetings are high energy and run according to a structured agenda. Meetings last around 90 minutes with additional time allotted for casual conversation and networking before and after the meeting. Arrive early knowing this is a crucial and valuable time for additional networking, and be sure to sign in as a visitor.
You’re the Expert. Because each chapter allows only one profession per chapter, you will be considered the expert in your profession. You will serve as sole representative of your field, and others will view you as their go-to person for your services.
Respect Your Craft. Businesses are expected to be the full-time occupation of our members. This is meant to insure a high-level of expertise, quality, and commitment to the craft for every represented industry within a chapter.
